SR: Tabu EN

Tabu (2012) by Miguel Gomes
After a second viewing I accept, I register quite singular contrast between the first part about reality of elderly life, and the second about silent dreamy youth at the African savannah.
A few moments aspire to label “surrealistic”, but they never attain it in full scale, sufficiently.
The film is also still rather simple than minimalistic with one thing going on at a time, and not so rich a texture to fill the empty space of our expectation.
But when Mario’s band, genuine piece of Musica Hispano-America (see Julio Iglesias in a white suit), starts to play, who cares about little imperfections.
